Internships

Do you have an innovative idea for promoting alternative modes of transportation? Do you have questions about sustainability or city planning that you’d like to research with the support of experts? Are there particular creative or technical skills that you’d like to further develop?

Our organization is deeply committed to the education and professional development of the next generation of planners, advocates and sustainability professionals. We do obviously ask our interns to assist with operations and administrative tasks. However, all internships with 128 Business Council are primarily structured around a creative or enterprising project developed by, or in coordination with, the intern themselves.

We accept internship applications from both undergraduate and graduate students on a rolling basis, and encourage you to send your resume directly to our Executive Director at mtibbits@128bc.org. In your cover letter, make sure to address the following:

  • Why are you interested in transportation and/or planning?
  • What specific courses or past experiences have most informed that interest?
  • What ideas or questions would you like to explore during your internship?
  • What skills are you hoping to further develop?
