Hello Spring Construction! Lexington St. Water Main Work & A1 Adjustments
Spring construction season is here, which can mean shifting traffic patterns, lane closures, and surprise detours that affect commute times. We monitor municipal alerts and local news to flag issues in advance whenever possible, but some changes move fast. Thanks for your patience—our drivers are pros at on-the-fly reroutes to keep you moving.
A specific construction FYI for Waltham- and Lexington-based commuters: The MWRA water main replacement project on Lexington Street in Waltham is underway and expected to last through mid-to-late May. Southbound traffic between Concord Avenue and the Waltham/Lexington line is restricted to local access only, with no southbound travel permitted past the city/town line. Northbound traffic remains open, but detours are in place.
