Meet the New 128bc.org
Have you noticed our website looks a little different? We rebuilt 128bc.org to make it easier to find what you need (fast) and to make The Grid feel more navigable for new and returning riders alike.

More Maps!
You’ll see many more maps throughout the site, starting with a holistic service-area map right on the homepage. Our new Routes landing page includes an interactive, clickable system map so you can explore each route and stop in context. And on every schedule page, the schedule table and route map now “talk” to each other: click a stop in the table to highlight it on the map and vice versa.

Alert System Upgrade
We also expanded The Grid’s website alert system. Each route still has a dedicated “Updates & Alerts” section, but now you can view a summary of current service alerts for all routes directly from the homepage. (Click the neon yellow tab at the top of the page. If you don’t see a neon yellow tab, there are no current alerts.) Alert icons also appear on our service-area maps so you can immediately see which routes have critical messages.

Clearer Organization
Behind the scenes, the site is now organized more clearly around the different kinds of folks we serve: Grid riders, other non-SOV commuters, representatives from our member companies and communities, and consulting clients. And we added a new landing page for new riders that guides you through the essential “ready to ride” steps.

New “News”
We also launched a dedicated News section—an easy-to-search home for regional updates, program milestones, behind-the-scenes highlights, and the longer-format stories we’ve been publishing throughout the year. You can now find related News items at the bottom of many of our site’s pages.

Better Accessibility
Finally, the whole site was designed to meet universal accessibility standards. And we refreshed the design to make the site feel cleaner, calmer, and more intuitive.
Where Credit Is Due
Huge thanks to Opus Design for their terrific work—and a special shout-out since their offices are located at 117 Kendrick Street in Needham, one of our N1: Needham Shuttle member stops.
We’re also grateful to MassDOT’s Rail & Transit Division, since the initial phase of this work was funded by a 2024 MassDOT TMA grant. We’re proud to show off what that investment made possible.
If you haven’t explored the new site yet, now’s a great time to take it for a test ride!
