A Huge Thank You: Navigating 2024 MBTA Repairs—Together
The numerous MBTA shutdowns in 2024, although undeniably necessary, were a major challenge for our riders and our operations team alike. Supporting our riders to keep them connected and informed was our top priority during these periods: 128BC staff got up before the sun to spend their mornings at MBTA stations assisting riders in person. Whenever possible, our drivers and dispatchers worked together to minimize the disruptions to riders’ commutes. And we added an additional late-morning shuttle trip from Alewife Station during major diversion periods.
Prior to each new diversion, we launched a communication campaign clarifying the MBTA’s plans and providing locally-focused alternative travel options. We also collaborated with the other MassCommute transportation management associations (TMAs) to connect riders with an MBTA Closure Dashboard.
We deeply appreciated our riders’ continued trust in The Grid shuttles throughout this challenging period, and we’re glad to see most of these critical track repairs completed!
