128BC Receives Three State Grants as Part of $3M TMA Funding Initiative
128 Business Council is honored to have received three separate awards from MassDOT’s inaugural Transportation Management Association (TMA) Grant Program, the first of its kind in the Commonwealth.
The first award will support increased frequency on the N1: Needham Shuttle, relieving shuttle overcrowding and reducing congestion on the roadways connecting the Needham Crossing area to the Green Line. The N1 will increase from four to eight departure options.
The second award will allow us to put an additional vehicle on the road to serve the REV Bus system, doubling trip frequencies on both the R1 and R2 routes—meaning twice as many trips to/from the Hartwell Avenue employment district and twice as many express trips to/from Lexington Center.
The third grant will support major website improvements, including bringing the site into compliance with the standards of universal accessibility and improving the site’s user experience. Stay tuned for website upgrades in late 2025!
